About Dr. Damore


David Damore is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in American Politics and Research Methods and serves as Department Chair.  Dr. Damore’s research focuses on electoral politics and applied public policy.

In addition to his position at UNLV, Dr. Damore is a Nonresident Senior Fellow in the Brookings Institution’s Governance Study Program.  Dr. Damore regularly comments on Nevada politics for local, national, and international media outlets.

Dr. Damore earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis (2000), his M.A. from the University of Georgia (1995), and his B.A. from the University of California, San Diego (1992), all in Political Science.  He lives in Henderson with his wife and their two sons.  The Damores are avid fans of the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels, New York Yankees, Las Vegas Raiders, and Vegas Golden Knights.
